8 Amazingly Cheesy Celebrity 4th Of July Outfits

I'll take any excuse to eat loads, drink loads, wear something ridiculous, cover myself in unconscionable amounts of glitter, and watch fireworks, so I wish I could celebrate Independence Day. As a Brit, I've always envied the commitment that Americans have for their holidays, especially in the form of celebrity Fourth of July outfits. In the U.K., you're lucky if one house on your street is decorated for Halloween, and when trick or treating, you get a hell of a lot of unopened doors. But Americans go hard for their holidays, and the fact that I don't even get to celebrate the Fourth of July upsets me every year. I want to wear sequin hot pants whilst eating a hot dog, too! Someday, I swear I'll be there to go America over everybody's ass.

This year, some celebrities completely rocked not just America-themed outfits, but fabulously OTT America outfits. Because when else can you wear head-to-toe red, white, and blue and be adored by the entire country? There's a lot of glitter, a lot of face paint, and a lot of flags involved every year — but it's always way more fun to see the celebs who goofed around with the holiday by using it as just another excuse to glam it up.

1. Ed Sheeran And Taylor Swift

Everyone in America wished they could attend Taylor Swift's Fourth of July party, and Ed Sheeran was one of the lucky few who did! His cheeky clothing choice celebrated the holiday with the ironic humor typical of the British.

2. Vanessa Hudgens

Did Hudgens travel to Monument Valley in her adorable flag swimsuit just to take this patriotic picture? Those are levels of commitment that I will never achieve.

3. Tess Holliday

With her 30th birthday at midnight, Holliday rocked a Las Vegas theme for the Fourth of July in the cutest custom dress!

4. Miley Cyrus

Did anyone expect anything less of Cyrus? Her sequin shorts are suspiciously similar to Kim Kardashian's but this isn't a "who wore it best" competition — Miley's cheesy grin matches her cheesy outfit, and you can bet her party was one of the best last night.

5. Kelly Ripa And Michael Strahan

These onesies weren't invented by the Jonas brothers, and these adorable hosts rocked 'em for their Fourth of July special! Ripa's matching headband and dedication to still wearing matching heels is inspirational.

6. Rihanna

Rihanna's celebrations aren't (yet) shown on her Insta, but her outfit slayed — a subtle red, white, and blue theme (is it subtle if you're in just a swimming costume and loads of gold?), makes Rihanna's outfit the sexiest — but still in the holiday spirit — outfit yet!

7. Kim Kardashian

Kardashian's Fourth of July outfit makes me so happy! She steps away from her perfected chic image and allows herself a bit of fun.

8. Paris Hilton

I love that Hilton never stopped being OTT, even when her friends were heading into the high fashion realms of nude palettes. She'll always be a fave because she'll never stop delivering fantastic looks for every holiday (and even in between them).
