Congratulations, Billy Joel!

Now this is definitely an eventful Independence Day celebration. During a holiday party held the night of the Fourth, singer Billy Joel married Alexis Roderick, his girlfriend of six years and a former Morgan Stanley executive, in a surprise ceremony on Joel's Long Island estate. According to People, guests, including Joel's daughter Alexa Ray and actor Kevin James, received quite the pleasant surprise as the couple exchanged vows in a ceremony that was presided over by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Now that's how you celebrate a holiday.

The event marks Joel's fourth wedding; the musician was first married to Elizabeth Weber Small, and that union ended in 1982. Joel then married model Christie Brinkley in 1985, and the couple had a daughter, Alexa Ray. Brinkley and Joel divorced in 1994 but the two still remain friendly. In fact, Brinkley attended Joel's third marriage to television food critic and personality Katie Lee, where daughter Alexa was the maid of honor. Brinkley also posted a sweet congratulations message on Instagram to Joel and Roderick after their nuptials on Saturday evening (below).

Alexa Ray, too, expressed her happiness for the newlyweds, posting an adorable photo of them on her Instagram.

There's certainly a lot to celebrate; Roderick and Joel are expecting a child later this summer. In April, People confirmed that the couple are having a daughter, and that Joel was "thrilled" to become a father for the second time.

So here's a question: considering so many people dance to Billy Joel songs at their wedding, what do you think Joel and his wife dance to at their ceremony? If I were him, I'd turn on "Just The Way You Are" and lean into it, but maybe that's just me. In any event, congratulations to the happy couple on their new marriage and their impending arrival!
