Sosie Bacon's Miss Golden Globe Title Will Help Her Become a Star, As It Did These 9 Others

The Miss/Mr. Golden Globe title is awarded annually to an aspiring Hollywood actor with the coolest parents in town. Juuuuuuust kidding, it's an official titled awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. It just simply happens to be the case this year as our Miss Golden Globe 2014 is Sosie Bacon, the daughter of Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon — aka Hollywood's power denim couple.

Ms. BaconGlobe will be assisting the Hollywood Foreign Press Association as awards season kicks off, and most importantly, she'll be presenting the awards to winners at the big event. Last year's Globetrotters (puns!) were Francesca Eastwood (daughter of Clint Eastwood and Frances Fisher) and Sam Michael Fox (son of Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan who was totally made famous for the sick burn Tina and Amy made about Taylor Swift).

Let's take a look back at the Miss and Mr. Golden Globes of yore and see who went from presenter to star... and who had the coolest parents.

Melanie Griffith

Melanie was Miss Golden Globe in 1975 at the age of 18. From there she starred in dozens of movies, including the coming-of-age CLASSIC Now and Then. She also was nominated for an Oscar and won a Golden Globe for her performance as Tess in Working Girl in 1988. And it all came full circle. Get it, Mel.

Freddie Prinze Jr.

Behold! The King of late ’90s early ’00s teen rom coms and horror films! Oh how we all dreamed of walking down our parent’s steps on prom night to be greeted by Mr. Prinze. He was Mr. Golden Globe in 1996 and one year later I Know What You Did Last Summer was released, as was his total dreamboatiness. He went on hiatus for a little while but is back to acting (shirtless!) and made headlines recently after he and his wife Sarah Michelle Gellar reportedly moved out of their home when they found out Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were moving in as neighbors. Oh and his dad was Freddie Prinze, a total ’70s suave-ass actor and comedian.

Anne Archer

Anne Archer was Ms. Golden Globe in 1971 and went on to star in television throughout the ’70s and early ’80s then broke out on to the big screen in the mid ’80s and early ’90s. She’s best known for her roles in Fatal Attraction, Patriot Games, and Clear and Present Danger. And apparently being Harrison Ford’s co-star.

Dakota Johnson

So Dakota’s parents are Don Johnson and… Melanie Griffith! Dakota was Miss Golden Globe in 2006 It’s come full-full circle! Starring in the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey as Anastasia Steele, we’re sure Dakota’s star power is going to rise astronomically.

Linda Evans

She may have been Ms. Golden Globes in 1964, but she was the Queen of ’80s big hair. Linda Evans starred in the soap classic Dynasty and we were all better for it.

Rosanne Katon

Rosann Katon has perhaps the most ecclectic career on our list. She’s an actress/activist/comedian/model who was Ms. Golden Globes in 1981. Her career in Hollywoods ranged from co-starring with Denzel Washington in St. Elsewhere and appearing in action films in the 1970s. Now, Katon focuses her work on humanitarian causes including Operation USA which helps provide aide to international disaster relief.

Joely Fisher

Joely Fisher is the daughter of singers Eddie Fisher and Connie Stevens. She was Ms. Golden Globe in 1992 and went on to co-star in the sitcom Ellen and has acted steadily ever since.

Rumer Willis

Daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore (honestly, you couldn’t tell?), Rumer Willis has been making a steady climb up the Hollywood ladder since being the award show’s Golden gal in 2008.

Dominik Garcia-Lorido

Dominik was knighted by the HFPA in 2003 (seriously, what happens when you become Miss Golden Globe!?). Daughter of Andy García and María Victoria Lorido, Dominik is best known for her roles in The Lost City (directed by her father) and City Island (which also co-stars her father). Next up, Dominik and Andy are also starting a family band. Maybe.
