Need more proof that Meryl Streep is a total badass? First of all — how dare you question Meryl Streep, who could literally play any role in any film, play, TV show, or other work of art, and be flawless in it. And second of all, here you go, solid proof: New clips from August: Osage County have made their way onto the web, and they'd all be totally lackluster if not for Meryl Streep's amazing, wondrous presence.
If you're not familiar, August: Osage County — also known as the movie where Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts "go at it like Godzilla vs. Megalon" — is based on Tracy Letts' award-winning play of the same name, and follows the story of an Oklahoma family dealing with the sudden suicide of their father. Making matters worse, his wife, Beverly (Meryl Streep), is suffering from mouth cancer and a newfound pill addiction.
Along with Streep and Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Abigail Breslin, Juliette Lewis, and Benedict Cumberbatch also star — but no one cares about them because of MERYL STREEP. This woman just steals every scene she's in, in every movie she's in.
And now you can check out the clips below. August: Osage County is set to hit theaters on Dec. 25.
