OMG. It's like a Starbucks across from a Starbucks or the corner of 1st Street and 1st Avenue AKA the universe is colliding. Kris Jenner and Justin Bieber were twinning in Balmain recently — specifically in the house's tailored black and gold blazer. I know. I bet you thought that the Kardashian matriarch and the cleaning-up-his-image pop singer were twinsies thanks to their close-cropped hair, which isn't that different. But such was not the case. They both wore the same dragon-print applique blazer, but on different occasions. So at least it wasn't a red carpet Hindenburg. I think we all remember that Miley Cyrus and Samantha Jones moment in the Sex and the City sequel.
The Biebs donned the unisex piece, complete loads of golden embellishment, at the 2015 Met Gala. That was all the way back in May. He wore the topper with with black trousers, an asymmetrically buttoned black shirt, and black shoes. To go with all black was a wise style move for Selena Gomez's ex. The blazer was detailed and spoke at a high volume. Therefore, all of the other elements of his ensemble needed to not compete with the blazer.
He added rounded aviator shades and blew his famous hair back, looking the part of matinee idol.
It was wonderful to see The Biebs opt for a fashion-forward blazer, a departure from some of his usual looks.
He cleaned up nice. It was a handsome presentation.
It looked good on him. Really. I'm not being sarcastic. At all.
It might have been The Biebs' best red carpet showing in ages.
So, here's America's Top Momager, wearing the same blazer, which she also paired with black pants and shoes, wisely so. She wore it over the weekend to a fashion show.
Kris is taking her fashion inspo from the younger set. She also wore one of her daughter Kim Kardashian's Givenchy ensembles recently.
Jenner styled her Balmain blazer exactly as The Biebs did —right down to the similarly shaped shades. Again, the blazer is really bold and is meant to be the centerpiece of an outfit. So it really is at its best when paired with basic black.
Let the blazer kick things up a notch, right?
I can't even do a "Who wore it best?" commentary or comparison, since Jenner x Biebs styled the blazer identically. Both looked dashing, though.
