Jesse Williams Has Some Big News!
Congratulations are in order for this Grey's Anatomy star! On Saturday, it was announced that Jesse Williams is expecting his second child with his wife, Aryn Drake-Lee — and soon. As reported by E!, the couple, who are already parents to one-year-old daughter Sadie, have a due date before the end of the summer. The family could welcome their new baby in just a few months' time, and according to E!, they are understandably "really excited" for the new arrival.
For those familiar with Williams, who plays Dr. Jackson Avery on ABC's hit show, the news that he's going to be a parent for a second time couldn't be better. Not only is the Grey's star a talented actor and a highly attractive guy (to put it mildly), he's also an outspoken supporter of feminism and civil rights. From last summer's Ferguson protests to the recent #FreeBree campaign, Williams has had no qualms about sharing his beliefs with his millions of followers. He defended Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes when she was called an "angry black woman," expressed his horror over June's Charleston shootings, and went on a thoughtful, impassioned Twitter rant when the death of Freddie Grey was ruled a homicide. Williams has always acted as a voice for change, and knowing that his attitude and belief system will be passed on to future generations is certainly reason to celebrate.
Williams has always spoken out about what he finds important, and over the last year or so, he's become one of the central voices in the movements for gun control, civil rights, and equality across all races and genders. It's a strong example to set for his young daughter and his second child, when he or she arrives. Congrats to Williams and Drake-Lee on their exciting news!
