Fashion Names Celebrate Same Sex Marriage
After the immensely long battle for members of the LGBT community to obtain equal rights, the Supreme Court officially, finally, ruled Friday that same-sex marriage bans are unconstitutional. Major fashion celebrities have already begun reacting to gay marriage ruling, taking social media by storm to celebrating our country’s groundbreaking progress.
It's a day to remember indeed as all fifty states will now recognize that love is love, no matter the sexual orientation in question. According to the New York Times, the decision was a “culmination of decades of litigation and activism, [that] came against the backdrop of fast-moving changes in public opinion, with polls indicating that most Americans now approve of same-sex marriage.” Hooray for the progressive movement! Next up: transgender rights.
The fashion industry has always been a particularly pro-LGBT community throughout the years, and fashion in itself is an outlet of individuality and personal expression.. It has become one of the few industries in which you are able to be who exactly you are, not just in regards to the clothes you wear, but in regards to everything about your life.
