The Mother of Dragons Just Chopped Off Her Hair

Just when you thought everyone had already gotten their summer haircuts, Emilia Clarke revealed a lob on Instagram! And dang, it looks good. Emilia Clarke made headlines earlier this year, when she joked to Harper's Bazaar that she'd named her famously long, famously platinum wigs on Game of Thrones: "Seasons 1 and 2, she was just Dany. And then Diva came along ... she's completely huge. She didn't behave herself." Well, now, Ms. Clarke is in for her own major hair change (though this one features less spiral curls and volume, which is probably for the best, since this isn't Meereen) — she's chopped off about half of her hair!

Yep, looks like Clarke's the latest edition to the bob squad — she ditched her shoulder-length waves in favor of a sleekly modern chop. The new hairdo comes about halfway through the press tour for Terminator Genisys (it's been quite the press tour, she's already made waves by fabulously stepping out in Dolce & Gabbana and crutches, and by joking about Jason Momoa's pink fluffy modest sock). The newest Sarah Connor debuted the look via her Instagram account, as well as at the world premiere of the movie in Berlin — and it's very, very on point, especially as paired with a crisper-than-crisp cat eye, a perfectly-deployed red lip, and some killer embellished Balenciaga.

Gorgeous, right? It's got a lovely 60s vibe to it (there's a definite touch of pre-downfall Megan Draper to it), and it's just perfect for summer. Plus, I'm sure her new short hair be easier to hide under Diva when it's time to start filming Game of Thrones again. Heck, we're in completely uncharted territory on the show now... so who knows, maybe Dany's travels through Vaes Dothrak will lead to an entirely new wig — but unfortunately, we'll have to wait until next year to find out.
