Angelina Jolie Takes Shiloh On A Humanitarian Trip

Can Angelina Jolie adopt me as one of her kids, even just for a day? The actress has once again proven to be an extraordinary mother, when Jolie took her daughter Shiloh with her on a humanitarian trip to Turkey. The star, her daughter and husband Brad Pitt visited a Syrian and Iraqi refugee camp in the country and met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss what, according to People, Jolie called the "the worst refugee crisis ever recorded — and a time of mass displacement."

According to Jolie, the trip was the first time daughter Shiloh had gone with her on a humanitarian trip, but she has asked to come on missions and meet refugee families for a few years now. This must certainly be an eye-opening, enlightening, and moving trip for Jolie's child to experience, and it's also an intelligent move on Jolie's part to help her daughter understand global issues on a much more personal scale.

This isn't the first time Jolie has done things with her kids to make them more aware and more well-rounded, though. From letting her kids express themselves freely, to giving incredible speeches on the importance of humanity and being yourself, Jolie has definitely proven that her parenting style of immersing her children in worldly experiences is really quite a noble idea. A few of her past examples, below:

1. Jolie Travels Coach With Her Family

Why shouldn't the Jolie/Pitt family fly coach? Just because they're famous doesn't mean they have to fly first class or even have that desire. Jolie and Pitt probably taught their children a lot about saving money and not always needing decadence by flying coach to France.

2. Jolie's Speech At The Kids' Choice Awards Affects Us All

"I want to say that when I was little, like Maleficent, I was told that I was different, and I felt out of place, and too loud, too full of fire; never good at sitting still, never good at fitting in. And then one day, I realized something — something that I hope you all will realize: Different is good." What else is there to say? Jolie's Kids Choice Awards speech clearly showed she's an inspiration to us all, and her children are certainly proud of their mom and her sentiments.

3. Revenue From Photos Of Her Children Went To Charity

Taking advantage of a common situation, Jolie gave the money from photos of her twins and Shiloh's birth to charity.

4. Jolie And Pitt's Wedding

Not only did her kids draw on her wedding dress and were integral to Jolie and Pitt's wedding day, Jolie once again gave the revenue from pictures of her wedding to charity. Seriously, if her kids aren't also fans of charitable giving and humanitarian work by now, I'd be completely and utterly shocked.

5. Allowing Shiloh To Be Herself

When Shiloh Jolie-Pitt reportedly wanted to be called John, both Jolie and Pitt could not be more supportive. And it was a beautiful sight to see. Congrats, Angelina, for setting such a good example for your kids, and for letting them see what being a humanitarian is all about.
