Bethenny Can't Help But Cry On 'RHONY'

I think it's now fair to say that Kristen Taekman and Bethenny Frankel just do not get along and probably never will. Bethenny has barely given Kristen the time of day this season of The Real Housewives of New York City because she's just not that into her. The few times that they have interacted, it has ended in nothing but drama. However, Bethenny hit rock bottom during Tuesday night's episode of RHONY because Kristen made her cry.

OK, so this is far from the first time we've seen Bethenny shed some tears on RHONY. She has been crying all season because she's dealing with a lot right now in her life, in case you haven't heard. Bethenny keeps telling the other Housewives that she just doesn't want to talk about her problems with her divorce and custody battle, but the dam always eventually breaks, and the water works flow.

My heart goes out to Bethenny, and I feel terrible that she has to go through such a terrible time. However, I'm getting a little desensitized to her tears after seeing her just burst into them out of nowhere episode after episode. And so are the Housewives.

Hence the drama with Kristen during Tuesday night's episode. Before Bethenny arrived at Luann de Lesseps' photo shoot for her clothing line, Kristen brought up the fact that there were some rumblings about Bethenny not being able to join the ladies on their upcoming trip to Turks and Caicos.

This is another thing Bethenny has done all season. She's a bit of a flake when it comes to the ladies' social gatherings, but she does have a good excuse. Since she shares custody of her young daughter with her ex, she doesn't get to see her all that often and wants to spend every waking moment that she can with her. I have to side with Bethenny here. she's right to want to stay home with her daughter.

Anyone would understand that, right? Have you met the Housewives? Well, they don't, so when they heard Bethenny might not be able to come on the trip with them, they were none too pleased. Kristen and Heather Thomson were both peeved because they have kids and responsibilities that they worked around to find a time where everyone could go on the trip. If they changed the date of the trip yet again, they wouldn't be able to go.

When Kristen and Heather confronted Bethenny about this at Luann's photo shoot, she predictably lost it and started crying in the corner. She explained how that month she wouldn't be able to see her daughter for 21 out of 31 days, and everyone felt kind of bad, but still not really.

However, Bethenny's tears were the most dramatic part of this confrontation, as has been the case throughout most of this ho-hum season. In the end, someone said something to the effect of, "At least we'll have you in Turks and Caicos for three days before you have to return home."

Wait. What? If Bethenny was always able to join the ladies for part of the trip, why did they insist on starting this fight in the first place? Does anyone even know what they're fighting about anymore? I sure don't.
