Mark your calendars, thriller-seekers: J.K. Rowling's new Robert Galbraith novel, Career of Evil , has just gotten a cover and a release date. This third installment of the Cormoran Strike series will be out on October 20, 2015, and by the looks of it, Career of Evil is sure to deliver the same bloody intrigue as 2013's The Cuckoo's Calling and 2014's The Silkworm.
If you've been living in a bunker/cave/Wi-Fi-free zone for the past three years, you might not know that Robert Galbraith is Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling's pseudonymous (and highly successful, natch) foray into the moody world of whodunnits. The Robert Galbraith novels follow London private investigator Cormoran Strike, an Afghanistan War vet, and his partner Robin Ellacott as they solve all manner of sinister crimes.
Robert Galbraith publisher Mulholland Books also released a synopsis of Career of Evil :
When a mysterious package is delivered to Robin Ellacott, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman’s severed leg.
Her boss, private detective Cormoran Strike, is less surprised but no less alarmed. There are four people from his past who he thinks could be responsible — and Strike knows that any one of them is capable of sustained and unspeakable brutality.
With the police focusing on the one suspect Strike is increasingly sure is not the perpetrator, he and Robin take matters into their own hands, and delve into the dark and twisted worlds of the other three men. But as more horrendous acts occur, time is running out for the two of them…
Sounds utterly horrifying. I'm sure we're gonna love it.
Who's preordering now besides me? Oh, all of you? Yeah, tell me something I don't know.
