To say that everyone is excited for Orange Is the New Black Season 3 to make its Netflix debut would be a bit of an understatement. Fans of the popular prison series can't wait to get back to binge-watching the various antics going on inside of Litchfield. And while I'm very anxious to check in with our beloved returning characters, I'm also extremely curious to meet some of the show's highly anticipated new additions. That includes Litchfield newcomer Ruby Rose, who plays OITNB inmate, Stella Carlin, and serve as a potential love interest for both Piper and Alex. Suffice to say, I'm very intrigued to see how this character's story arc develops. So much so that it's led me to do a bit of research on who Ruby Rose actually is IRL.
Though she may not look all that familiar to some of you before now, Rose has featured her talents in projects far outside the Netflix series. She is also a well-known Australian model and even serves as the face of Maybelline NY. Aside from that, she's also an accomplished actress, DJ, MTV host, and recording artist. (Seriously, does this girl ever get any sleep?) But just in case those talents alone aren't enough, it was only last summer that Rose created the eye-opening short film titled Break Free, which focused on the topic of gender identity. Rose has described herself as being "gender fluid" in the past, which is a big part of what made this project so important to her. "I am very gender fluid and feel more like I wake up every day sort of gender neutral." You can check out the touching video here:
As far as the small screen goes, Rose is best known for playing herself in the television series The 7PM Project as well as being a guest judge on Australia's Next Top Model. And something tells me that her upcoming Netflix debut is only going to help to increase her star power, especially in the United States. OITNB has already proven just how fast it can skyrocket someone's popularity (just look at what it's done for pretty much the entire cast!). And judging by the uber-sexy love triangle Rose's presence is going to create, it won't be long until she too has wormed her way into our Litchfield-lovin' hearts. Keep your eye on this one, folks. I've got a feeling she's going to be a keeper.
