I didn't think I could get any more excited for True Detective Season 2's premiere after I saw that explosive first trailer — but, I guess I was wrong, because HBO just revealed the premiere date for Season 2 of True Detective , and I am officially more excited than ever before. Perhaps it's because we all now have a concrete date to count down to, or perhaps it's because it helps instill the realization that it won't be long before this amazing show is back on television — either way, it's huge news for any fan.
So, when's the big day? I hope you're sitting down when you read this, because I am not joking when I say it's soon. Calendars at the ready? OK: So, according to a press release HBO just sent out, the premiere will air on the network at 9 PM on Sunday, June 21. That's right — this month, we'll all finally get to see Rachel McAdams in what might be her most badass role yet, and maybe get to hear more of that infectious Lera Lynn song featured in the initial Season 2 trailer.
Also revealed in the press release is the title of the first episode, which might give fans who dabble in Internet sleuthing a little hint of what to expect from the premiere: "The Western Book of the Dead." Creepy and mysterious — the perfect episode title for a show like this.
Who else can't wait?!
