Streaming 'The Fosters' Is Easy As Pie

by Leah Marilla Thomas

Summer time means summer television. One of the most popular summer/midseason shows, The Fosters, will premiere the first half Season 3 on ABC Family this Monday night. The show is always progressive and ahead of the curve in terms of televised family dynamics, so can you stream The Fosters Season 3 instead of watching it on boring traditional television?

Last season's car accident cliff-hanger should have everyone on edge waiting to see what happens next. According to the official ABC Family press release for the season premiere "Wreckage," the episode will take place weeks after the crash. "Stef is determined to find the driver responsible for the crash. Callie continues to volunteer at the drop-in center... [and] Brandon starts at the Idyllwild Music Program and quickly realizes that he will be faced with serious competition." There's also more drama in store for Jude and Connor already, when Jude asks if their relationship can be private at school. No! They got Breakfast Club-ed and I'm already bummed about it. Give this family a break, please!

Excited to check in with the Foster Adams clan, but unsure of how you're going to do that without the standard methods? Lucky for us, ABC Family has made The Fosters incredibly easy to stream on a multitude of platforms and devices.

Online

With a cable subscription/password, you can watch The Fosters on the ABC Family live website. That's the easiest way to stream the show with a browser and a laptop or tablet. Certain cable providers (Verizon, Time Warner, and ComCast at least) also have individual live-streaming setups, so if you have cable but happen to be temporarily separated from your living room, you can still watch The Fosters when it airs.

App Time

The "Watch ABC Family" app will also allow you to live stream episodes and access on demand content. It's available for Amazon, Windows, Apple, and Google Play. Basically, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to watch The Fosters with or without a television set.

Wait It Out

If you don't have a cable subscription that includes ABC Family, but you do have Hulu, episodes of The Fosters will be made available for online streaming 21 days after they air. You don't even need Hulu Plus to enjoy all of the juicy drama. If the wait time is bringing you down, just pretend like the season premiere date isn't for another three weeks, and you'll be all set. You can also catch full episodes on the ABC Family website with a similar delay.
