Get To Know 'Pretty Little Liars' Andrew Campbell
There's been a whole lot of hooplah surrounding Andrew Campbell on Pretty Little Liars lately, especially after it was revealed in the Season 6 premiere that the authorities (and, well, everyone) think it was he who kidnapped Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily. And while the real reason behind my writing that last sentence is so I could use the word "hooplah," I do have other intentions, my main one being to introduce you to the big ol' hunk of sexy glory that is Brandon Jones, the actor who plays Andrew.
Let's cover all of the basics before we dive in. Jones is 27 years old (so, you know, the ideal age to play a high school student), originally from North Carolina, apparently has a bunch of tattoos (insert heart-eyes emoji here), and began his acting career in 2009. Yet despite his short time in the business, Pretty Little Liars isn't even close to being Jones' first TV drama rodeo. According to his IMDB page, he's been in multiple popular dramas, including 90210 (that was his very first role, actually), Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and The Fosters, as well as significant roles in CSI and the dearly-missed show Lie To Me. So basically, Jones is kind of big deal, but he's subtle about it. That is, he was subtle about. All subtlety really fell out the window the first time he took his shirt off on PLL. I mean, COME ON NOW:
I'm sweating right now, y'all. Just profusely sweating. And I'm not even sorry.
But Jones is not just the ideal Andrew Campbell because of his beauty. He's proved time and time again that he's got some serious chops, and his acting history proves that he's the right choice for the character. Here are five reasons that Brandon Jones is perfect for the part.
1. He's Done The Murder Mystery Thing Before
A couple of years ago, Jones starred in a movie called Killer Reality . The synopsis is just too fitting not to share:
Hayley, a producer on the hit reality show LOVE EVER AFTER, unwillingly falls for The Bachelor on this marriage elimination series. Things become complicated very quickly, especially when one of the female contestants turns up dead. That's when work becomes downright murder...
Things getting complicated? People dying all over the place? Potentially dramatic love triangles? Sounds like the perfect PLL training to me!
2. He Was A Jack Of All (Sports) Trades In High School, Just Like Andrew
Just as Andrew is in multiple different clubs and sports teams on Pretty Little Liars, Jones was on the football, track, and wrestling teams in high school. If Andrew really is Charles, I'm sure all of the athletic training will be extremely helpful.
3. Did I Mention That He's Really Hot?
Look, I don't mean to harp on it, but since I'm 99 percent sure one of the main requirements for any PLL character is that they have to be stupidly good-looking, I'm just saying that he fits the bill.
4. He's An ABC Family Veteran
Jones has also been on The Fosters and Switched At Birth, so he knows what ABC Family viewers want to see.
5. He Knows How To Lie
If any of you have ever watched Lie To Me before, you know that the main character of the show refers to himself as a human lie detector. Basically, he can tell whether a person is telling the truth or not (as well as any number of emotions) based on their body language and their facial expressions. Sadly, the show was cancelled a while back, but I highly recommend a Netflix marathon if ever you have the time.
Jones was a on a few episodes of the show, and if there was a place to pick up lying techniques, that was it. It could explain why Andrew seems so good at lying. Or, you know, Jones could just be a good actor. Either one. Whatever the reason, one thing is clear: Jones couldn't be a better fit for the part.
