All your dreams are coming true, Wildcats. There are not one, but two High School Musical stars at the Tony Awards this year. Ashley Tisdale presented Vanessa Hudgens' 2015 Tony Awards performance for the Broadway musical Gigi. How adorable is that? Is this not the best Sharpay and Gabriella reunion ever? It's great that they're still so close and supporting each other after playing such preppy rivals for years. But that was just on screen, of course. Off screen the two are still buddies all these years later. In her presentation speech, Ashley Tisdale even called her "my best friend Vanessa Hudgens." Aww.
Vanessa Hudgens will also be appearing as Rizzo in the live televised production of Grease on Fox later this year — in one of the most brilliant casting decisions I've seen in a long time. It seems both Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens are making the transition from Disney darling to mature show business ladies flawlessly. And, it's awesome that we still get to see them together after all this time.
Hudgens is currently making her Broadway debut in the title role of Gigi at the Neil Simon Theatre. At the Tonys she performed the song "The Night They Invented Champagne" alongside her Gigi co-stars Corey Cott and Victoria Clark, while Ashley Tisdale watched supportively from the audience. Too cute.
