The 2015 Tony Awards Best Dressed Were Especially Spectacular, Thanks To Anna Wintour
Every year, New York's theatre elite collect at the Tony Awards to honor the many actors, producers, and directors that make Broadway shows possible. This year's Broadway season was exceptional, including such hits as The Elephant Man (starring Bradley Cooper) and Gigi (starring Vanessa Hudgens). However, the Tony Awards have never been known for its exceptional fashion choices. It's even been criticized by the editor-in-chief of Vogue and queen of fashion herself, Anna Wintour, for not being fashionable enough — which is why she stepped in to lend the show a helping hand this year.
With the help of Wintour's styling ability, Vogueand KCD helped create this year's red carpet looks. The results were, naturally, amazing. The red carpet began with hosts Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming, who brought their A-game in terms of both talent and fashion. Zac Posen and Oscar de la Renta were all over the carpet tonight. White and metallics were also a huge trend. But those who stood out the most with less conventional dresses really stole the show. Between Vanessa Hudgens' floral Naeem Khan gown to Kendall Jenner's coral sequined Calvin Klein dress, the red carpet at the Tony Awards came alive for the first time in a long time. Here are some of the highlights from tonight's gorgeous looks!
Kristin Chenoweth
Queen of Broadway and co-host of the Tonys tonight, Kristin Chenoweth steps out in a shimmering silver dress by Zac Posen.
Elisabeth Moss
Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss, and star of this year’s The Heidi Chronicles, comes to life in Oscar de la Renta’s multi-colored floral dress with a red berry lip to match.
Laura Bell Bundy
Despite a bird pooping on her dress before the red carpet, Laura Bell Bundy looks stunning in an edgy black dress with a leather waist coat complete with square structured shoulders.
Kendall Jenner
Despite viewers’ and red carpet correspondents’ confusion about why she’s here tonight, Kendall Jenner looked flawless in coral sequins. This shimmering backless number is by Calvin Klein.
Kiesza
Canadian musician Kiesza, fresh from her performance at Governors’ Ball this weekend, rocked a particularly artful white dress. Incredibly unique but right on trend with color (there was a lot of white on the red carpet tonight), she paired it with black open-toed stilettos and a fierce cat eye.
Amanda Seyfried
The Way We Get By actress Amanda Seyfried rocked the red carpet tonight with a beautiful olive-toned metallic dress by Oscar de la Renta paired with a sultry smoky eye.
Vanessa Hudgens
Star of Gigi, Vanessa Hudgens was glowing in her overflowing floral Naeem Khan dress and coral lips.
Sarah Stiles
Hand To God actress Sarah Stiles lit up the red carpet with her vibrant fuschia empire-waisted gown, offset with a lime green clutch bag.
Jennifer Lopez
Last to arrive to the red carpet (but last is certainly not least), J.Lo slayed in her blue strapless gown with an explosion of beautiful gold accents and a vampy lip.
