6 Beauty Products You Should Steal From Your Guy

by Miki Hayes

So you've slept over at your dude's (boyfriend, successful Hinge date, best friend... whatever) place, but wake up in the morning and realize that you didn't bring any of your own grooming products. And while this might seem like a mistake, it can actually work out for the best. All you have to do is steal some men's beauty products out of his cabinet. I know those dully packaged gray, black, and blue tubes and cans are not the most appealing. Can something that looks like that actually have benefits that compare to my fancy bright and colorful products with enticing buzzwords? You might be surprised.

If you're in a pinch or just have different needs, men's beauty products can actually be just as good (if not better!) than products targeted towards women. And if you needed another reason to rifle through his medicine cabinet, there are even products we might not have thought we even wanted or needed that most guys probably have. What's more is that (rather unfairly) men's beauty products are usually less expensive than women's. So whether you want to start buying them for yourself, or just steal them from your SO, here are six beauty products made for men that you should definitely try.

1. His Shaving Cream

The thicker consistency of men's shaving cream can work even better than women's. And bonus? It's generally much cheaper.

Barbasol Original Shaving Cream, $1, target.com

2. His Razor

Many times, men's razors will have more and sharper blades. So for a closer shave, borrow your dude's. Just make sure to use a fresh blade to keep everything sanitary.

Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor, $13, target.com

3. His Aftershave

Stave off razor burn and irritation by following up with an aftershave. Although aftershaves are generally targeted towards men, they really are life-saving products. And don't worry, the tingle is good for you.

Shaveworks The Cool Fix, $25, sephora.com

4. His Exfoliator

Men's facial scrubs can be harsher than women's. This makes them perfect to use on occasion for problem areas like the T-zone or during the winter to really slough off dead skin.

Clinique For Men Face Scrub, $21, clinique.com

5. His Deodorant

If you want stronger protection than what women's deodorant typically offers, try a men's deodorant. There's none of those powdery scents, and you don't even have to worry about white streaks because men's formulas are usually gel.

Dove Men+Care Clean Comfort Antiperspirant & Deodorant, $4, target.com

6. His Pomade

Fix flyaways or tame your 'do in a pinch with a touch of your S.O.'s pomade.

Redken For Men Polish Up Pomade, $16, ulta.com
