What Being A Pisces Means For Your Sex Life
Since my Hollister-polo-wearing, Razor-scooter-riding preteen days, I've read my horoscope religiously each month — whether it was in an issue of J-14 or Cosmo, there was nothing more thrilling than taking a look at the month ahead to know what to expect in my social or love life. Sure, some people are skeptical and say there's no way your astrological sign has any real bearing on what happens IRL. All haters aside, you can glean a lot of useful wisdom about yourself from your zodiac sign (and LBR, there's nothing us Millennials love more than reading/learning about ourselves) and knowing what signs are compatible.
As a now-adult, I turn to astrology more often than not to creepily find out if I, a Taurus, am compatible with the latest suitor who's come a-calling. Even if it's mostly in good fun, it can be seriously beneficial to learn about your zodiac sign — more often than not, descriptions of your character based on your sign are spot on. Thus, it makes sense that learning about your sign as it relates to your love life from a real, live astrologer might help you finally land that Prince or Princess Charming (or at least give you a hint about where to start your search).
The first sign that gets the royal treatment from an astrologer? Pisces! I spoke with astrology-based dating app Align's advising astrologer Annabel Gat to learn more about what makes a Pisces woman tick, because understanding and embracing your most dominant traits is a sure-fire way to help you be more self-aware when it comes to ~lurve~. Whether you’re compatible with Pisces or you yourself are a Pisces, here’s what to know about this zodiac sign and sex.
1. They're giving lovers
Kanye may not be a Pisces himself, but he apparently has a lot in common with them. According to Annabel, Pisces are creative and sensitive individuals who are known as the "dreamers and poets of the zodiac." They love to investigate the mysteries of the universe (how beautiful, right?), but this can also cause them to reject being tied down.
"These laid back fish don’t appreciate confrontation, so if you’re looking to hook up with one, play it cool. Dreamy Pisces is ultra seductive when they turn on their charm, and they’re usually very giving lovers. Again, they’re hard to tie down. When they say “I’ll text you,” you can never be sure if they mean this week or next year."
2. Any sex position will do, but you need to change it up
To be fair, sex can be fun no matter how you do it. But if you're looking to achieve a spectacular O, your star sign can clue you in to what works best for you. According to Annabel, Pisces is a "Mutable sign," meaning they're flexible (physical flexibility may vary). Any position will do it for a Pisces, but the key is changing it up frequently to keep some spice present in the relationship. As for worst positions?
"Pisces isn’t thought of as being the most athletic sign in the zodiac — keep them in an olympic position in bed and they might get cranky."
(I may not be a Pisces, but that sure sounds like me.)
3. They're sexually compatible with Virgos
Compatibility amongst the zodiac signs is of particular importance, because there's nothing worse than when you just don't ~vibe~ with someone, but have no idea why. When it comes time to pick a partner, Annabel strongly advises that a Pisces should hook up with a Virgo at least once in their lives — the two are opposing signs, which could make for some seriously steamy sex.
"Virgo is down to earth and practical, balancing the dreamy fish’s mystical vibe. Pisces can often be in fantasy land, when it comes to sex or anything else in their lives, and Virgo will help them get back in touch with their body."
4. They should masturbate in the bath
Since you're a fish at heart, it might behoove you to take a leaf from fellow Pisces Justin Bieber's book and get back to your aquatic roots. Pisces are a water sign, so it's only fitting that incorporating wetness into your masturbation routine will turn you on.
"Getting in touch with [yourself] in the bath is certainly a great place to start. Keeping with the water vibe, extra lube is also always handy."
5. Speak up in bed — and beyond.
If all this love advice isn't enough for you, Annabel leaves one last sage piece of wisdom for all Pisces ladies:
"Don't be afraid to ask for what you want: Not everyone is as psychic as you are, Pisces!"
