Hakeem Questions That We Need Answered In Season 2

It's so strange that even with only one season on the air, Empire became a pop culture phenomenon over night. Every episode was chock full of insane moments, which lead super fans, like myself, to become very invested in the fictional lives of the show's main characters. With that said, Season 1 of the show was way too short for my liking. I mean, come on, there were only 12 episodes. That's barely anything. As a result, Empire fanatics are really looking forward to Season 2 and wondering about the fate of their favorite characters. The first season finale really left us all on the edge of our seats. We all want to know what's going to happen next and are over the wait. And, on top of that, there are so many unanswered questions, especially when it comes to Hakeem Lyon, the youngest son in the family.

How is the hot headed rapper going to fare in Season 2 of the show? That's one, very general question is certainly on the minds of all Hakeem fans, but there are plenty of other, more specific questions that Hakeem fans want answered during the second season of the show. Here's everything we want to know. And yes, a lot of it has to do with the ladies.

1. Will he reunite with Camilla?

This has got to be the number one question that Hakeem fans are wondering. Naomi Campbell's character, Camilla, left so abruptly during Season 1 that it just did not seem like game over for her and Hakeem. There was no closure for him or for viewers. I would be pretty shocked if she did not get back together with Hakeem at least for a night in Season 2. I mean, how else is he going to get out all those mommy issues? She should return — as long as he doesn't call her "mommy" in bed anymore. That's just too much.

2. Will he hook up with Boo Boo Kitty again?

Hakeem hooking up with his father's girl was pretty crazy. They even continued going at it when Lucious walked in the room, almost as if his presence and disapproval got them off even more. With his father in the clink, will Hakeem make another pass at his lady? It sounds disgusting, but I'm weirdly in support of this.

3. Will he and Tiana give things another go?

Hakeem was not too happy when Tiana's bisexuality was revealed to the world, but there is just some sort of chemistry between these two as both musical collaborators and romantic interests that is pretty captivating. Even if they do not actually date, I can see them pretending to date in public to drum up some press.

4. Will he and Cookie be able to mend their relationship?

Hakeem's blatant disrespect for his mother really irked me during Season 1. I get that he's upset that she was in prison for 17 years, but she went away as a sacrifice for him and the rest of their family. He can at least show her a little respect. They did end up on the same side of the hostile takeover of the record label in the season finale though, so maybe there's hope for some harmonious interaction Season 2.

5. Will he reach out to Lucious in jail?

Lucious always favored Hakeem since he was the baby of the family and a rapper so willing to follow in his footsteps. That is, until Hakeem pulled a robbery and stole his girl. And then, Hakeen rapped about it at an industry event, leading Lucious to punch him in the face. So I can see why Lucious handed the record label down to Jamal. Nevertheless, is a lifetime of favoritism something that Hakeem has totally forgotten? Will he reach out to his jailed father or just let him rot? I feel like he's going to ride this wave of spite, but who knows. Still, I feel like he should contact his father because Lucious is not someone you want as an enemy, even if you're his own son.

6. Will Hakeem and Jamal restore their sibling bond?

Even though Lucious pit Hakeem and Jamal against each other, they always seemed to have each other's back at the end of the day. Jamal used his writing abilities to help Hakeem rework some of his songs and they even had a surprise duet together. They really were a great sibling pair. They are on different sides of the Lucious and Cookie battle now, but I hope that they can reunite as siblings.

7. Is Hakeem ever going to have a one-one-on interaction with Andre?

Am I the only one who noticed that Hakeem and Andre are virtual strangers? They have had no significant interaction on the show and most of their time together was in a group setting. What's up with the distance between them and why has no one touched on that? The distance in the other relationships on the show is so important to the story, so this surprises me. Maybe they will join forces now that their brother Jamal is supposed to run Empire.

8. Will Hakeem start to mature?

Hakeem has such a short fuse and does not seem to be a great listener. He's rude to his mother on a constant basis. He hooked up with his father's girlfriend. He cheated on the TV version of Rihanna with a woman old enough to be his mother. Plus, he is inexplicably shirtless in too many scenes. I know he's a young adult, but if he thinks that he can get involved in business matters with the rest of his family, he needs to man up. Will we see a mature side of him this season? I hope so.
