Is another beloved celebrity couple married? According to Glamour, there's a good chance that Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger are married. Did they do the typical secret ceremony, so the paparazzi and media wouldn't be part of their special day? Well, some sure seem to think so. While attending the CFDA awards, "a trusted source" told Glamour that during Jackson's presentation of a menswear award, someone in the audience whistled, and Jackson responded, "I'm assuming that was my wife." Hmm... does this really mean the two tied the knot? I'm going to go with probably not, especially since they've been very vocal as to why they haven't said "I do."
It's no secret that the actors aren't really interested in marriage. In October 2014, Jackson chatted with Glamour and revealed why the longtime couple (they've been together since 2006) have yet to marry. He said,
I can tell you why we’re not married: We’re not religious. I don’t feel any more or less committed to Diane for not having stood in front of a priest and had a giant party. We’re both children of divorce, so it’s hard for me to take marriage at face value as the thing that shows you’ve grown up and are committed to another person. But it may change at some point. We may get married.
The same goes for Kruger, who isn't interested in marriage. She told Metro in 2014, "I’m not married and don’t intend to be, and I never believed in love at first sight but I do believe opposites attract." Kruger was married to Guillaume Canet for five years before meeting Jackson.
It's not unusual for a couple who have been together for almost 10 years to refer to one another as "husband" and "wife." Even though they seemingly haven't had a wedding, it's like Kruger and Jackson are basically married. So, just because he reportedly called Kruger his "wife," well, that isn't full-fledged proof they are officially married.
Also, if they or aren't, who cares, because thy're adorable and that's all that matters.
