Matt Lewis Is More Than His Looks, People!

OK, OK. I was one of the many people who was totally surprised when the studliness of Matthew Lewis seemed to come out of nowhere. I didn't continue to follow Lewis after his Harry Potter career, so my only lasting memory of him was of shy, awkward, and extremely baby-faced wizard, Neville Longbottom. But when the photos from Matthew Lewis' shoot with Attitude magazine were released, it's safe to say that ladies and men around the world found a new appreciation for the actor. His exposed abs launched a fury articles based on his, well, physical goodies, but I am here to give you all the reasons that he is more than just his chiseled body and is the total future-boyfriend package.

When Kit Harington said he had a problem with being ogled for his dashing good looks, I rolled my eyes a little bit, because that sounds like such a terrible position for him to be in. Jokes aside, I do applaud him for wanting to be seen for more than his pout and luscious locks, and for encouraging men and women to look beyond the surface of their favorite stars. In that spirit, I'm going to celebrate the other reasons why you should have a crush on Matthew Lewis — beyond his hot bod.

1. He's loyal to his Harry Potter friendships

Just out golfing with Tom Felton as two grown, no-longer-pretending-to-be-wizards, men.

2. He's a mommas boy

When his Attitude photo shoot came out, the 25-year-old seemed to be embarrassed at all of the attention and showed his concern that his mom might read the inappropriate comments.

3. He's socially conscious

He supported Jamie Oliver's petition to provide food education for every child. Sigh.

4. He's not afraid to be silly

You can tell he doesn't take himself too seriously.

5. He loves the good things in life, like pizza and beer

After being extremely focused on a no-carb diet and training for his role as a triathlete and personal trainer in Me Before You, he confessed to Attitude magazine, "I can’t wait for a pint of lager, I tell you that! The pizza and beer will definitely be making a comeback over the summer.” A man after my own heart.

6. He is an Ariana Grande fan

This means you can sing "Break Free" at the top of your lungs with him with NO SHAME!

7. He is humble

In the same Attitude interview, Lewis also confessed that he was happy to get more grown-up roles, but was a bit surprised at all the attention to his looks. He said,

I was excited I guess to go on the red carpet on the release of the last film and be me, and not to have to have the fat suit under my t-shirt. It was quite an exciting buzz... And then obviously a lot of attention focused on it, which I didn’t expect at all. I’ve never considered myself to be good-looking at all. Just average.

Well, Matthew, many people do consider you to be good-looking, but hopefully, they'll realize all the other great things about you, too!
