Sansa Finally Got Some Good News On 'GoT'

by Kelly Schremph

I think it pretty much goes without saying that Game of Thrones is not exactly known for giving its characters a happy ending. I mean, not even weddings are safe from the constant fear of death and bloodshed. However, Sunday night's GoT episode "Hardhome" gave one of our beloved characters something very surprising — a piece of actual good news. During another run-in with Reek aka Theon Greyjoy, Sansa learned that her brothers Bran and Rickon are still alive. As you can imagine, Sansa was pretty peeved at Reek for foiling her plans of escaping and finds comfort in discovering all of the brutal ways Ramsay has tortured him. This isn't because Sansa is violent by nature. It's because she was still under the impression that he had killed her two youngest siblings. And, now, she finally knows that isn't actually the case.

After yelling at him and pushing him for details, Reek revealed that it was two farmers' boys that he killed since he was never able to track Bran and Rickon down. Now, granted, Sansa still has no clue as to where her brothers could be now. But, at least she can now hold on to a small shred of hope that they're still in the land of the living. It's not much, but hey, when you compare it to the horrifying things that have happened to her in these past few episodes, it's definitely an improvement. So, if Sansa was in need of any extra incentive to want to escape, this was it.

So many Starks are dead at this point, I wouldn't blame some fans for losing hope at a family reunion. This series has faked us out in that regard in more ways than one. But, now that Sansa knows that her siblings are out there, it may be just a matter of time until the remaining Starks find their way back to one another. Hey, a girl can dream, right?
