Mindy Kaling's New Short Do Is Warm Weather Ready

As someone with short hair, I've been lucky enough not to have to deal with strands getting stuck to my neck, all day. And Mindy Kaling's chin-length bob is telling me that she's trying to get on my level, too. I mean, not only is it an extremely smart decision with summer's arrival, but it's also a fabulous look that really fits her.

It's no surprise that Kaling decided to switch up her look right now. With the release of her latest book, Why Not Me?, the premiere of her Disney Pixar film, Inside Out, and The Mindy Project's switch to Hulu, Kaling couldn't have chosen a better time to try out the bob. I'm a big a fan of changing your look when you're going through it, whether that "it" is good or bad. And if I've ever heard of anyone having a lot to do, Kaling's to do list has got to be way up there.

Since I've had short hair since the 10th grade, I love it when celebrities come over to the dark side (aka, the short side). Especially when it looks as sophisticated as it does on Kaling. Honestly, it looks like she was meant to have this haircut. It's super slimming (obviously though, because she lost inches), and frames her face perfectly. And just like a good pair of jeans, it's something that you can rely on for getting you through all of the press events and book signings.

Kaling is digging her new hair as much as I am. She posted an adorable hotel shot on Instagram to show it off. "Short hair don't care. Just a girl in her housedress drinking mini bar vodka, getting ready to go to her book publishers party," Kaling captioned.

And once again, I'm reminded of why she's a role model worth having.
