I thought the granny gray hair trend was O-V-E-R and dead, after Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Kylie Jenner, and Zosia Mamet rocked variations of it and then quickly moved on, but guess who is bringing it back just in time for summer? Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon has gone gray. The college co-ed, who is aka Lola and who just completed her freshman year in Michigan, took her normally chocolate-colored locks in a whole other direction for a hot second.
Given Lola's DNA and her birthright as Her Madgesty's eldest daughter and firstborn, she has "fashion influencer" strands running through her veins.
She's 18 and while she doesn't get nearly as much press, as, say, Kylie Jenner, who is a year her junior but of a similar aesthetic, she does have a grungy, rock 'n' roll style that feels very street influenced and very much her own.
The granny gray trend surprises me sometimes in that most women spend serious bucks for root touchups to get rid of gray hairs. Then along comes the millennial fashion set, going gray... on purpose.
I can't tell if Lola is rocking a straggly wig or not. You have a look at the teen, who heads up the Macy's-only Material Girl junior's line with her trendsetting mother, and see what you think.
Is it me or does Lourdes ever-so-slightly resemble Lady Gaga? I am not sure why, but I look at her and I see Gaga. Maybe it's how she was snapped, all walking and candid.
This is how Madge's baby girl usually looks when gettin' fancy. So pretty.
Check out her layered and punkish street style.
Or her mini gothness.
She likes the tough yet feminine mashup, it seems, with leather jackets, dresses, and combat boots. So '90s, and she was born in 1996.
She is totally Madge's doppelganger, from the nose up at least.
I like Lourdes (or Lola) with granny gray... if it's just a pitstop.
