In case you were wondering if The Bachelorette could keep up with Taylor Swift, you've got your answer: Taylor has her new boyfriend Calvin Harris, and The Bachelorette has his doppelganger Shawn. (Come on, these two could be brothers.) What's more, is that Shawn as quickly jumped to the front of the pack: During Tuesday's premiere part two, Kaitlyn gave Shawn the first impression rose. And rightfully so.
Kaitlyn appreciated that Shawn was so forthcoming about being there for her, and you know, felt a connection with this mega handsome guy. (Lucky Kaitlyn.) What's great about all of this is that Shawn seems pretty seriously genuine. He didn't get all gimmicky in his limo intro, he didn't fall all over himself to profess his support for Kaitlyn (I like you, Ian from Princeton, but you're going a bit overboard here), and he's got that incredibly magnetic smile. I'd give him the first impression rose too.
But getting that mini trophy doesn't always bode well — just ask Nick Viall from Andi's season of the Bachelorette. Getting the first impression rose usually guarantees that a guy will stick around, but you know what they say about first impressions: they only go so far.
Still, I'm rooting for Calvin, er, Shawn. And not just because I think it would be great for Kaitlyn's trajectory to mirror Taylor's.
