'Jem and the Holograms' Trailer Is Fierce & Pink

We all knew that this was coming, and now it's finally here. The Jem and the Holograms movie adaptation, produced by Scooter Braun (of Justin Bieber fame), has released a global trailer, and it is epic. Campy in the best kind of way, and harkening comparisons to The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Josie and the Pussycats, and Hannah Montana, the Jem and the Holograms trailer provides a perfect set up for the movie that will appeal to the teen and the tween in all of us. Starring Aubrey Peeples, Stefanie Scott, Hayley Kiyoko, and Aurora Perrineau as the titular Jem and the Holograms, it's two minutes of straight wish fulfillment having very little to do with the original Jem cartoon but nonetheless enjoyable for all involved due.

In the trailer, Jerrica Benton is uber shy and yet uber talented, the latter of which no one gets a chance to see until her well-meaning sister Kimber secretly records Jerrica as she sings with makeup on her face and uploads it to the Internet. The video attracts the attention of a major recording company and, with a lot of makeup and pink wigs, the Bentons — and their foster sisters Aja and Shana — are launched to superstardom. Until, you know, Jerrica aka Jem inevitably embarks on a solo career that will teach her that it is lonely at the top and that what made her music so fun was having her sisters by her side the whole way.

Jem and the Holograms is one of those movies that appeals to the hidden star in all of us that always dreamed of being as famous and talented as Beyoncé, but that's not the only part of the trailer that is packed with wish fulfillment. These nine moments will make you wish you had a little Jem in you, too.

1. When You Get All These Pink Wigs

Jerrica can't become Jem without pink wigs. Seeing as pink is my favorite color, I wish I had someone shoving a bunch of pink wigs in my face and telling me I had to perform in them. I'm 99 percent sure I would look amazing, and it would match half the stuff in my closet.

2. When Your Sister Makes You A Star

Nine times out of ten, when someone is secretly recording what you're doing in your bedroom, not only is that a bad thing but that's also a tape you want burned. Thankfully, Kimber only has Jerrica's best interests at heart and her decision to upload her singing onto the Internet worked out well enough to make them all rich and famous.

3. When The First Guy You Meet Looks Like This

Sorry, what? I wasn't listening to you. I was staring at Ryan Guzman and finding other men inadequate.

4. When Children Want To Be You

Even my 12 year old sister thinks that she's cooler than me, so having small children look up to me enough that they start dressing like me (and wearing pink!) is totally a dream of mine. Then I would parley their adoration into an army of next-generation minions and rule the world. I mean, what?

5. When Your Best Friends Are All Cool

Jem might be the one rocking the pink, but the other girls look just as cool as she does. If you're going to be rich and wildly famous, there's nothing better than getting to do it with your sisters.

6. When You Look Good In A Broken Mirror

We all have those days when we don't even think we look good in an un-cracked mirror. This shot of Jerrica looking like a model in a broken mirror makes me so jealous I could cry.

7. When Dick From Veronica Mars Is In Your Life

And, even better, the elder Casablancas brother wants your autograph. On his arm. And is named Steve now. Call me bitter, but this seems like poetic justice for all the dark shenanigans Dick got up to on Veronica Mars. Plus, it's just hilarious.

8. Getting To Do Everything With Your Cool Friends

It's lonely at the top but, before she gets there, Jem has her sisters by her side and the girls look like they're having the time of their lives. The fact that they got to ride to superstardom together is so heartwarming, even if they end up in a reverse One Direction situation. (Too soon?)
