Already tore your way through Enchanted Forest and Secret Garden? Don't put those fancy colored pencils away just yet. Illustrator Two new Johanna Basford adult coloring books are coming. Yay for continuing to reclaim our lost youths!
According to a press release sent via email to Bustle on Thursday, Penguin Random House has acquired two new coloring books from Scottish "ink evangelist" Basford, whose first two books reached number one on Amazon's best-seller list. The first title, Lost Ocean: An Underwater Adventure & Coloring Book, will be published on October 27, 2015.
"Through intricate pen and ink illustrations to complete, color, and embellish," as Penguin describes Lost Ocean , "readers will meet shoals of exotic fish, curious octopi, and delicately penned seahorses. Visit coral reefs and barnacle-studded shipwrecks; discover intricate shells and pirate treasure." Sounds just as wildly delightful as we could have hoped.
No word yet on the title or theme of Basford's second book. But if the crazy success of Basford's first two books is any indication — 2013's Secret Garden has sold more than 1.4 million copies — both of her forthcoming activity books will be soothing millions more overstressed adults around the world.
So stoked. I'm sharpening my pencil set circa now.
