Gabrielle Union Is A Body Positive Icon

People Magazine's annual World's Most Beautiful issue is a tough magazine to wiggle into. Every year, the magazine complies the most beautiful, fit, and fascinating celebrities to ask them about what keeps them gorgeous, and this year, they included one celeb, who was a no-brainer: Gabrielle Union is a body positive goddess and proved it in People's 2015 World's Most Beautiful issue with some quotes about thigh dimples, bathing suits, and Kendall Jenner.

When you look at Gabrielle Union walk the red carpet, you probably think, wow, that girl is totally sure of herself. But Union says that poise did not happen quickly. “That confidence didn’t come over night," Union, 42, told People. “It has come with age — age and continuing to read and travel and realize that nobody, except for mean girls, gives a shit about a dimple in a thigh or what your upper arms look like. If you carry yourself with confidence, and you move through the world with your head held high and your shoulders thrown back, you don’t need to be a [size] double-zero. What people are attracted to is the fact that you’re attracted to yourself.”

Needless to say, Union doesn't believe in the thigh gap and it's working for her. Union has been the face of Neutrogena and SensatioNail, always strutting confidence and a cool, casual air. According to Union, there's one thing that gives her a self-esteem boost no matter what: her Roberto Cavalli "Rio-cut" bikini.

“It’s like a magic bikini, like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants — if I could give this bikini to everyone I know, of all shapes and sizes, [I would],” Union told People. “I don’t know what it is; I get a little extra bounce in my step [when I wear it].”

Union also had some things to say about role models and body image.

“[My friend and I] were having this discussion the other day, somebody was like, ‘Uh, if I could just look like Kendall Jenner!” Union told People. “I’m like, ‘Kendall Jenner is 12 years old [laughing], you are 44. Clearly you are going to need some other role models. You are going to kill yourself in an attempt to look like a child! It’s okay for Kendall Jenner to look like Kendall Jenner, and it’s okay for you to be fly and amazing and fit and a healthy 44-year-old woman.’ It’s okay to have a range of beauty ideals.”

I think I just found my new favorite body positive icon.
