Artist Donald Robertson is known for some eccentric artwork on his social media. Now, however, the artist is working for a worthy cause. Donald Robertson is auctioning illustrations that he created in collaboration with London's Floral Street in Covent Garden, and the proceeds will be donated to the victims of the Nepal earthquake. While the designs are stunning, the motivation behind the auction is even more beautiful.
Robertson began his career as the creative director of MAC Cosmetics. No big deal, right? Well, Robertson was a member of the creative team that launched Viva Glam and raised millions of dollars for HIV/AIDS research. Back in February, Miley Cyrus rocked gorgeous Brian Atwood heels that benefited the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Well, those stunning pumps were actually a collaboration between Atwood and Robertson. The artist clearly has a eye for art and fashion, but it's his love of philanthropy that makes him such an asset to the fashion world.
The auction for Nepal's earthquake survivors will feature five of Robertson's original illustrations. The artwork was originally created to act as a method of relaunching Floral Street as a women's wear location. The illustrations feature woman sporting gorgeous floral inspired fashion or carrying large bouquets. Bidders can comment on the Covent Gardens Instagram page in order to place their bids on the pieces. The bidding is set to close Monday, May 8, so if you've got the $3,000 reserve price, get to bidding!
