Well this isn't the first time we've seen this happen. Rihanna showed up to the Met Gala in a bright, yellow fur-trimmed dress designed by Guo Pei and I, along with the rest of the Internet, was quite impressed by the very bold look she decided to rock tonight. Of course, this isn't the first (or last) time Rihanna blew us away on the red carpet. There was the now infamous pink Grammy dress that looked like a cupcake. So, what else should we have expected from our beloved R&B princess?
Anything RiRi wears is bound to be a stunner, because duh, she's Rihanna. But there was something about this yellow dress that got me wondering, "Exactly what look was RiRi trying to accomplish?" I mean, obviously Rihanna is music royalty, so the exquisitely extravagant material matched her perfectly, but this was a look that I wasn't expecting. Whatever RiRi had in mind, she definitely lit up the red carpet like a ray of sunshine and I was all for it. But, since we live in a world where Twitter becomes the source for the opinionated, unfortunately, not everyone appreciated RiRi's fine and eclectic choice of wardrobe.
So what were the reactions to this lavishly adorned dress? Well, the Internet definitely had many things to say about this one. Perhaps it was the bright, bold yellow, but Rihanna's dress was basically compared to all sorts of things, ranging from pizzas to Spongebob Squarepants.
