The Best Shoes At The 2015 Met Gala
Despite popular opinion, one could argue that the shoes on the Met Ball red carpet are just as pivotal to each ensemble as the dress, clutch, or makeup. A beautiful pair of heels can provide improved posture and an elongated gait to the wearer. However, finding the right pair of heels is a difficult endeavor. The wrong heel height or style can lead to the downfall of entire ensemble — both figuratively, and, as often in Jennifer Lawrence's case, quite literally. And the Met Gala itself is an uphill battle; unlike the Oscars or the Emmys red carpet, the Met Ball entrance is a series of graduated steps, all the better for posing and, if you happen to be clumsy, tripping.
However, the majority of the fashion icons and Hollywood starlets hitting the Met Ball red carpet are coordinated enough to handle a pair of four-inch heels. If you're more intrigued by the beautiful footwear at the Met Ball than the gowns and pantsuits, read on for the heels that won the evening. As would be expected for an event created to honor great feats of design, the heels on display were minimalist but major.

2. Diane Kruger

3. Anna Wintour
Though not the most inspired hue, Anna Wintour’s nude cage sandals are nevertheless daring in a more modest manner.
4. Dwyane Wade

5. Kerry Washington
A vision in rose, Kerry Washington stepped lively in emerald slippers.
6. Jennifer Lawrence
A column-clad Jennifer Lawrence gave the paparazzi a glimpse of her gilded, black strappy heels.
7. Uma Thurman

8. Kris Jenner
Kris Jenner’s cross-strapped pointy-toe pumps were perhaps the best facet of her otherwise confounding ensemble.

10. Reese Witherspoon
Sultry and strappy, Reese Witherspoon's crimson platforms were delightfully out of character for the southern belle.

The very picture of modern rock royalty, Rihanna paraded up the Met Ball steps in shimmering pointed-toe pumps.
12. Cara Delevingne
A defiant Cara Delevingne rocked black peep toe heels with thick ankle straps on the Met Ball carpet.
Standing ovation, anyone?
