This Spice Girls Reunion Is Everything

by Jamie Primeau

While it may be hard to believe, David Beckham turned 40 on Saturday. Being the generous guy that he is, he decided to give all of us a gift: Beckham joined the world of Instagram. But that's not the only amazing thing that happened on the anniversary of his birth! To celebrate his 40th, his wife Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, threw a b-day bash with some old friends... In other words, there was a Spice Girls reunion and it was every '90s girl's dream come true.

OK, so maybe it wasn't on the same level as that time they reunited at the Olympics and sang for everybody. But it was pretty great regardless! Beckham brought together Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, and Melanie Chisolm. Sadly Melanie Brown (better known as Mel B.) missed out. Of course it's not a full reunion without Scary Spice. But don't worry, that doesn't mean the girls aren't still close! Just last month, Mel B. told E! News that they're like sisters and FaceTime regularly.

And guess what? There's even a new member of the group... sort of! Eva Longoria joined in on the group's party photos and declared herself the newest Spice Girl. I can only hope that at some point in the night, the ladies took all the stage and sang a rendition of "Wannabe" or "Spice Up Your Life."

If they decide to actually reunite and go on tour again, I'd totally support that—especially since next year is the Spice Girls' 20th anniversary. Can somebody please make that happen by starting an Indiegogo campaign or something? In the meantime, I'll just be sitting here looking at these photos from Beckham's party and wishing I was there.

The Group Shot

Eva announced she's the newest member and that she'll go by the name "Latina Spice." Based on this photo, she fits right in!

Brooklyn's Photobomb

Are boys allowed to join the Spice Girls? If so, I nominate the Beckhams' son Brooklyn to join the group. Sure, it ruins the name... but look how adorable this photo is.

Joking Around

Here's a shot of Mel C. and Emma goofing off and posing.

The Birthday Boy

Of course they got a group photo with David Beckham. His birth is the very reason they all reunited! Thank goodness for that, right?

It's like the real-life equivalent of this song and really proves that friendship never ends:
