Tove Lo's "See You Again" Cover Is Wonderful

by Alex Kritselis

On Thursday, über-talented pop singer Tove Lo covered "See You Again" — Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's emotional Paul Walker tribute from the Furious 7 soundtrack — and it's a performance you definitely don't want to miss. Lo, a 27-year-old Swedish newcomer who's best known for her hits "Habits (Stay High)" and "Talking Body," put her own unique spin on "See You Again" by stripping back the production, a wise decision which really allowed the heartfelt lyrics to shine through. Watching Lo's appearance on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge, you may notice that it seems to take a little while for her voice to truly "warm up." However, once she hits the song's soaring chorus of "oh-oh-oh's" about midway through, I can guarantee any doubts you had about her cover will fly out the window.

"See You Again" is currently the No. 1 song in America — and it's easy to understand why. The single's simple (but elegant) melody and touching, relatable lyrics about life and loss make it a clear winner. In fact, "See You Again" resonates so well with U.S. listeners, it was able to knock Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' mammoth hit, "Uptown Funk," off the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, bringing an end to the track's 14-week No. 1 streak. Now that's impressive. Check out Lo's powerful "See You Again" cover below.
