Raise your hand if you're excited to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. Granted, I'm partial to the original '90s movies, but seeing as Stephen Amell is in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 as Casey Jones, I might be able to hop on board. Plus, now that producer Michael Bay released the first photo of Amell as Casey Jones wearing his iconic hockey mask and carrying that famous hockey stick, let's just say I'm even more ready to see Amell in the TMNT sequel.
On Friday (what a glorious treat before the weekend), Bay posted the photo on Twitter, and there's no doubt that Amell pulls of the role of Casey Jones nicely. Did I expect anything less? Absolutely not. Seeing as he plays superhero Oliver Queen in CW's Arrow, I knew Amell would do the part justice. I don't even need to see him in action (though, I'm anticipating it) to know he is the right fit for Casey. Oh, and seeing as Amell has a way with arrows, I can only imagine his skills using that hockey stick.
Don't get me wrong, Elias Koteas (Chicago P.D.'s Alvin) will always be Casey Jones to me, but, clearly, I'll give Amell the exception, because, well, he's Stephen Amell — a great actor, and a real-life hero when it comes to doing his own stunts.
Also, how can you not be excited for him when he also appears to be so thrilled for his new role? On Thursday, he shared the following pic of himself as Casey Jones and captioned it, "I love my hockey stick." Amell, I love you, that hockey stick too, and whatever other sports equipment you'll use as weapons when it comes to taking on the TMNT 2 role.
