Answer: Maybe! I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical when I hit play on this new trailer for The LEGO® Movie , but I really wasn't disappointed — it's pretty aww-worthy! Who would have thought a 3-minute trailer for an animated feature film about children's building toys could melt an adult woman's cold, frozen heart? Look, there's Lego Batman! And Lego Superman! Lego Wonder Woman! And even little Lego Abraham Lincoln! Where's the Lego Gettysburg Address? This is just too much fun.
As for the film itself: From what I gather, it follows one little Lego dude named Emmet who is super ecstatic about everything in his life, even though he can't do jumping jacks (silly little guy), and coffee from a Starbucks-like franchise costs $37. While at work, though — construction, of course — he ends up falling into a weird pit, and being mistaken for "the most important person in the universe" and the only one who can save the Lego world. The best part, though, is the fact that Emmet is voiced by Chris Pratt, so he is thus, by extension, Lego Andy Dwyer. This movie is going to be awesome.
In addition to Pratt, the film also features voice work from Morgan Freeman (a.k.a., God), Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson, Will Ferrell, Jonah Hill, Cobie Smulders, Channing Tatum, Alison Brie, Charlie Day, and Nick Offerman — wait, Nick Offerman?! Ron Swanson is here too?
I NEED THIS MOVIE NOW.
The LEGO® Movie is set to hit theaters on Feb. 7, 2014. You can check out the trailer below.
