This Is A Real-Life '50 First Dates'

by Kristen Sollee

From The Vow to The Notebook to 50 First Dates, there are so many tear-jerking movies about memory loss and love. Although those tales might seem like pure Hollywood fantasy, they are true to life for 20-year-old Jenna Gisby, a woman who created a scrapbook to remember her boyfriend after she started experiencing seizures that wipe out her memory on a weekly basis. According to The Daily Mail, whenever her rare neurological disorder causes memory loss, her boyfriend Stuart Balmforth takes out the scrapbook and looks through it with her to remind her of their love (kinda like what Adam Sandler does for Drew Barrymore in the movie 50 First Dates).

Before you read on, you miiiiight want to grab a tissue for what she says about the endeavor. As Gisby explained to The Daily Mail: "It is terrifying when I wake up with no memory and it takes half an hour before I begin to remember again, my photo album definitely helps speed it all up...once I remember it is lovely being able to witness all mine and Stuart's memories again, it's like I'm falling in love with him all over again." .

Gisby is currently trying to get funding together for a new wheelchair that will allow her increased mobility. If you're so inclined, you can donate here.
