Joe Jonas Speaks Out About Drug Rumors

by Tanya Ghahremani

It's been two long, excruciating days (for your tweenage friends, anyway) since the Jonas Brothers officially broke up, and now it seems like we're finally beginning to get some clues as to what caused it. Well, kind of — this is a clue about what didn't cause it, but whatever, you're going to read it anyway. In a new interview with People, Joe Jonas slammed rumors that his drug use led to the break-up of the band, saying that he's "never touched heroin" in his life.

"It's ridiculous!" Joe explained to the magazine. "We're not saying anything for two or three weeks and I'm a drug addict! [...] It's obviously not true. I've never touched heroin in my life. Neither has my [girlfriend Blanda Eggenschwiler]. It's hilarious to me, but also frustrating as well. It pissed me off when it's about my girl and even about myself."

So, that settles that. Joe Jonas' drug use did not break up the JoBros, and he — along with his girlfriend — has never touched heroin, ever. So stop going up to him on the street and asking him how rehab is, because apparently that's a thing that's happening: "I was walking down the street and people are asking me if they can give me a hug and how rehab is...I'm like, 'You tell me because I've never been.'"

This isn't the first time that less-than-favorable rumors have surrounded Joe — this past March, very detailed rumors of a sex tape featuring him and Eggenschwiler began floating around, with vivid and hilarious descriptions that are too explicit for LIFE. Here's a snippet: "[Joe] does not enjoy being paddled. At one point he has had enough and cries “Owww! Don’t do that anymore!" I'm gonna go ahead and assume Joe wasn't all too keen about these rumors either.

As for whether or not the JoBros will ever get back together, Joe didn't give a clear answer, but did say that the brothers are "looking forward to the future." Cool.
