6 Oreo Hacks Guaranteed To Improve Your Life

by Maya Kachroo-Levine

I am completely obsessed with Oreos. I buy them about once a week. I tweet about Oreos at least once a day, and I think about them even more often. If you're a diehard Oreo fan like me, you're a pro when it comes to new Oreo flavors and trends. You went to multiple grocery stores in pursuit of red velvet Oreos. You read about bacon-fried Oreos and salivated the entire time. And you have a very specific and definitive ranking of the best Oreo flavors.

Welcome to latest trend of Oreo eating, my friends. Prepare to step into the light because Buzzfeed has as entirely new way to crush a pack of Oreos in one sitting. It involves melting the middles to make a sort of Oreo fondue. Basically, you take a pack of 6 Oreos (or several packs of Oreos) and scrape the insides off and into a bowl. Pop it into the microwave (Buzzfeed doesn't specify how long, but I'm estimating about 30 seconds) so it melts but doesn't bubble.

Then, dip one side of the Oreo into the melty, fondue of Oreo insides. Top with sprinkles. Be transported to Heaven. Not only does this Oreo hack open up the doors to warmed Oreo options, but it has serious potential to oust deep friend Oreos from the coveted, hot chocolate adjacent spot.

Here's how it's done:

Oreo fondue isn't the only hack they present. They also have a solution to dipping Oreos into milk. Slide a fork into the middle of the Oreo, then dip.

Stroke. Of. Genius.

While we're on the subject of Oreo hacks, Pinterest, Tumblr and I (okay, mostly the first two) have a few more life changing ideas:

1. You can make Oreo Cheesecake Sandwiches in about 5 minutes this summer:

Mix cool whip and cream cheese together, open your Oreo, fill with delicious mixture, and freeze.

Then sing "Hungry Eyes" at the top of your lungs while waiting for them to freeze.

2. You can bake Oreos into brownies and it's the easiest thing in the world

So sorry to be that person that shamelessly who uses their own Instagram, but like, they were SO GOOD.

Here's what you do: Buy brownie mix. Make the brownie mix and pour about half into the pan, making sure the pan is fully coated on the bottom with brownie mix. Put Oreos down (I prefer whole Oreos, but some people half them) and then pour the rest of the mixture on top. Don't worry if it's not even on top! Bake per brownie mix instructions.

3. Make red velvet peanut butter Oreo cupcakes and prepare for your life to change:

Make red velvet mix, and fill the muffin pans about 1/4 way full. Spread peanut butter on both sides of the Oreo, place in muffin pan. Then add the rest of the red velvet mix.

4. Make your own Oreo cookies 'n' cream ice cream.

Crush your Oreos with a potato masher and/or a basic steak knife. Put on top of your Vanilla ice cream. Marvel at how beautiful life is and truly believe that you can have anything you want if you give it your all.

5. Add some strawberries to your Oreo-based diet

You'll need:

  • 6 sliced strawberries
  • 4 crushed Oreo cookies (I'd double that... just a suggestion)
  • 2 1/2 tbsps of condensed milk

Mix strawberries and Oreos together, pour condensed milk on top. Chill in the fridge or freezer for about 10 minutes.
