On Friday evening, Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Bruce Jenner will open up to Diane Sawyer in a two-hour primetime 20/20 interview. It's something that's been talked about for some time now, especially since rumors have circulated that Jenner will come out as transgender during his chat with the ABC News reporter. With that said, will the Kardashian family watch? While chatting with E! News at Variety's 2015 Power of Women Luncheon on Friday, Kim Kardashian revealed she will watch Jenner's interview with her family.
Kardashian said, "Yes, we will be all watching as a family tonight. That is all I am going to say about it now." Us Weekly also caught up with Kardashian and asked about the special. She told the publication, "We're going to watch the special together as a family. And that's pretty much all I'll say about that today. I'll let the special come out and speak for itself."
A source also told Us that Jenner will watch the interview with Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie, Kanye West, and Scott Disick. However, they didn't mention whether if Kendall, Rob, or Kris will be joining them
It's no secret that Kardashian has been extremely supportive and respectful of Jenner ever since the transgender rumors have began. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kardashian said, “I’ll say that I think that Bruce should tell his story his way. I think that when the time is right, he’ll talk about whatever he wants to talk about.”
Furthermore, Kardashian said she and her family support Jenner's "journey." The Olympic gold medalist's family hasn't really commented on the rumors, but like Kardashian said, it's not their place to gossip about Jenner. Rather, it is his story to tell when he's ready.
Will Jenner come out as transgender to Sawyer? That still remains unknown, but one thing does remain clear: he has the support of his loved ones and that is extremely important.
Editors Note: Until/unless Jenner has personally confirmed the transgender rumors and the intention to begin presenting as a woman, Bustle will continue to refer to the track star as a man and father, using male pronouns. Jenner deserves the courtesy of being able to “tell his story his way” when ready, as step-daughter Kim said, and Bustle will only make those changes if/when Jenner confirms.
