Andrew & Emma Break Up For Good?!??!

A couple weeks ago, reports came out that Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield were "on a break" — the dreaded words that seem to inevitably haunt seemingly-perfect relationships. Almost immediately, many fans were distraught at the idea of the two being over, but we continued to hold on to hope that this, too, would pass. Now, the news of their break seems to have taken a more permanent state with a source telling Us Weekly that "It's finished. It's not just a break," and that Stone "ended things and moved back to L.A." Excuse me while I internally scream NOOOOOOOO!

I have long admired this coupling for their adorable photo-ops, charming personalities, and for generally being down-to-earth and just... cool. Obviously, we only see the shiny side of their relationship in the spotlight, but what could have possibly gone wrong? According to another insider who spoke to Us, their demanding film schedules are mostly to blame as Garfield has been off in Taiwan shooting Martin Scorsese's Silence, and the intense role has taken a toll on his physical and mental being. The source explained, “He'd been in a dark place for months, getting into his role... He wasn't being the best partner.”

Ugh. Listen, I'm all for getting into your craft, but I feel like actors need to draw the line at some point when preparation for a role starts interfering with their personal lives. Remember when it was reported that Jake Gyllenhaal dumped his then-girlfriend, Alyssa Miller, because of his intense work-out schedule for Southpaw? Is all of this worth it in the end? Only time will tell at this point, but one thing is for sure, Stone and Garfield were one of the most beloved celebrity couples and fans are having a difficult time coping with this news.

Yes, we all were holding on to hope and wanted to remain positive until we heard it directly from them, but things really aren't sounding good now.

Love is a tricky thing especially in the face of celebrity, unusual work schedules, and constant public scrutiny, so you never know how the tides will turn. As much as this news is a bummer for now, I hope they are each happy and working through whatever they're going through and end up the happiest they can, either together or apart because we love them both. But, first, I will mourn.
