RHONY's Kristen Taekman Launches Vegan Nail Line
Kristen Taekman from The Real Housewives Of New York always gave me a laugh with her infamous line, "I feel like I need to write a book called 'I Love My Kids, But This Fucking Sucks.'" And while she was seen by many as the not-so-intelligent, but pretty girl (she said it herself in her intro), she can prove all the haters wrong, because this lady has a new business: Kristen Taekman is launching a new nail line called "Pop of Color."
While this might be surprising to RHONY fans, it actually seems quite appropriate since she used to be a hand model. Her new line, which is exclusive to Ricky's, is vegan and does not contain certain harmful chemicals. And at only $8 a bottle, I've got a feeling that these bottles are going to go quickly. The collection comes in 12 shades, and each of their names have a personal meaning and connection to her. According to WWD, the army green color is called Cash—her adorable son's name.
Taekman told WWD, “I’m a mom who models every now and again and I kept asking myself what do I do in my spare time. Last season, you saw a lot of struggle between my husband and I with his work and taking conference calls while with the family, so I wanted to have something of my own.”
Pop of Color was started by Taekman, her makeup artist, Jacquelyn Grubbs, and Patricia Yankee. Together, they collaborated and put out the collection which Yankee used at the Elie Tahari show, according to WWD. Looks like it's already a success! I can't wait to get my hands on a bottle of the light gray shade called Pajamas. Ricky's also has the line available for pre-order on their website, www.rickysnyc.com.
