Does Rachel McAdams Have Film Projects Coming Up?
I don't know about you, but I've really been missing Rachel McAdams on the big screen lately. Though she's participated in a few projects recently, it's been nowhere near the volume of films she appeared in during the early-to-mid '00s — and life just hasn't been the same. Thankfully, though, Rachel McAdams will be back in our lives soon on a semi-regular basis, at least, as part of True Detective 's Season 2. Even better, she's playing a completely badass cop! #GirlPower, or something. However, that's only for eight episodes — which begs the question, what is Rachel McAdams doing after True Detective ?
Luckily for fans of McAdams missing her as much as I do, the actress will star in one film before her run on True Detective, and another while the episodes air — so that's like a triple dose of McAdams. The first film, Aloha with Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone, is set to come out on May 29 — a month before True Detective Season 2 premieres on June 21 — and the second film, Southpaw , comes out in theaters on July 21.
But, apart from that, what will McAdams be up to after her time on True Detective? Let's take a look at her upcoming projects.
Spotlight
Rachel McAdams plays a Boston Globe reporter in this movie about uncovering the child molestation scandal within the Catholic Church. She is pretty much the token female in the cast, with Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, and Liev Schreiber also set to star in the movie. With such a controversial story line, Spotlight 's screen play was on the black list of movies that would not be made in Hollywood for some time.
The Little Prince
If you're looking to "see" more of Rachel McAdams, this movie can sort of give you what you want: The Little Prince is an animated film, and McAdams is voicing "The Mother" in the classic story. If you're not familiar, the movie's plot centers around a child prodigy with an overachieving mother — aka, McAdams' voice — who goes on an adventure with a neighbor simply known as "The Aviator." If you need more proof of how good this project is probably going to be — it is based on a best-selling book with the same title. Plus there is a star-studded cast alongside McAdams: James Franco, Mackenzie Foy, Paul Rudd, Marion Cotillard, and Jeff Bridges also lend their voices to the film.
Sherlock Holmes 3
Though Sherlock Holmes 3 has been announced, there hasn't been a lot of other information about the project since then — even the IMDb page is pretty scarce. However, McAdams has already been apart of this franchise with her role as Irene Adler, so it has been rumored that she will be around for the third time around.
