Last Thursday, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans were in for a shock when it was reported that Kim Richards was arrested and charged with publication intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer, and battery on an officer after she allegedly refused to leave the Beverly Hills Hotel. As RHOBH fans know, Richards' addiction and sobriety have been a topic of conversation throughout the series, so to hear she was arrested after appearing to be sober for a while was saddening for fans. Now, Richards has spoken to Dr. Phil about her arrest and what exactly happened that night.
The reality star sat down with Dr. Phil for a one-on-one TV interview which will air next week. During their chat, the two discussed her battle with alcoholism and the arrest. The situation is an unfortunate one, especially since Richards' fans, family, and friends were rooting and supporting her throughout her tough time. During the interview, Richards blamed herself for the arrest and came clean about drinking.
"I was angry and frightened and I was scared," Richards told Dr. Phil. "I knew what I had done. The whole night is my fault. None of this would have happened if I didn't drink."
This is the first time Richards has spoken out about her arrest and explained what happened. However, her fellow housewives haven't remained quiet and have shown Richards support on Twitter. For example, RHOBH stars Eileen Davidson, Brandi Glanville, Lisa Vanderpump, and Lisa Rinna posted the following tweets. As for Richards' sister, Kyle Richards, she's remained mum about her sister's arrest, save for a few thank you's to Twitter followers for their well wishes.
Richards' TV interview is slated for Tuesday, April 28. She's also set to appear in LAX Superior Court on May 10.
