Sure, Piper Chapman (played by Taylor Schilling) was still there and dealing with her own marital and Alex drama, but the focus of the second season shifted to the rest of the inmates, including flashbacks of their lives pre-Litchfield. Old faces returned — the evil Pornstache, a.k.a. Mendez — but there were also some new faces who entered the prison and stirred up trouble. Vee (Lorraine Toussaint) did just that by manipulating fellow inmates and leading a charge against Red's (Kate Mulgrew) posse. The two women had a bitter rivalry until a very satisfying ending.
