Dating a sarcastic woman is like going on a roller coaster ride of fun. Every chat is an opportunity for verbal word play. It's veritable tennis match of wits. That is, as long as you’re not a sensitive little crybaby. Just kidding. Kind of. It's even been proven that understanding sarcasm makes you smarter. Now keep in mind, I’m not talking about someone who is going to rip you to shreds a la Chelsea Handlers or Joan Rivers (RIP). I’m talking about fun sarcasm, not full blown bitchery. Think Mindy Kaling or Tina Fey or Amy Schumer. It’s more about giggles and less about hurt feelings. But having said that even if you’re a sarcastic person yourself, if you’re not used to dating a sassy chick, you may be taken aback by her sharp wit and verbal agility. However gone are the days of Betty Draper, where ladies just sat around looking pretty.
It’s 2015 and we’re funny as s**t and we’re not afraid to show it. Her mad oratory skills and engaging repartee are a sign that she fancies you like peanut butter fancies jelly. Or carrots fancy peas. So, don’t be scared! In the words of Beyonce she’ll “upgrade you” (in other words make your life totally awesome). On that note, here's what you need to know about dating a sarcastic girl.
1. We can take it as much we can dish it
We want you to join in on the fun! Someone who is equally funny and sarcastic is hotter than the sun. I'm pretty sure a guy who is funny could look Mr. Potato Head and still get laid. Start ribbing her back and watch the sparks fly faster than the first night of The Bachelor.
2. We are just softies underneath it all
Duh. You just need to watch one episode of Parks and Rec to know that. Even though April is likely one of the most sarcastic characters to ever exist, she never fails to melt like an ice cream cone when it comes to her hubby Andy. In spite of her tough exterior, she's endlessly supportive of her loved ones. Sarcastic women are just as capable of loving puppies, babies, and butterflies as the next person.
3. You need to have a thick skin
So that when she tells that story about that time you got so drunk you fell asleep going down on her in front of your siblings, you'll be able to laugh it off (true story). Because that is hilarious! So is the time you tripped and fell in mud and everyone thought you pooped your pants. Everything has the potential to be funny, even her own mishaps. Trust. I once made a joke about my tampon mishap.
4. She likes to play it cool
Sarcastic chicks aren't likely to let you see them sweat. Because that would be totally against their M.O. But don't let that fool you. Just because she's not sniffling like a baby, doesn't mean she isn't angry/ upset / ready to punch you in the genitals.
5. If we're teasing you it's because we like you
Consider her sarcastic remarks a sign that she wants you. After all, she wouldn't bother making fun of someone she didn't fancy. That would be like going out to eat Mexican food if you don't like tacos, (P.S. if you don't like tacos you need to get your head checked). Boring people are no fun to joke with, so if she's joking with you she's thinks you're the cat's meow.
6. If you like her, chances are you're sarcastic too
Obviously. Otherwise what would she be doing with you?
