This 'Ugly Betty' Reunion Will Make Fans Ecstatic

by Allyson Koerner

This is the best news ever, especially if you're a fan of ABC's Ugly Betty starring America Ferrera as the lovable, courageous, strong-willed, and influential Betty Suarez. On Sunday night, part of the Ugly Betty cast reunited and it's pretty much the best thing ever. Warning: it will make superfans of the series and cast feel all kinds of emotions. So why did they come together? It wasn't part of some press event, it was to celebrate Ferrera's 31st birthday. How amazing is that?!

In addition to Ferrara, Vanessa Williams (Wilhelmina Slater), Tony Plana (Ignacio Suarez), Judith Light (Claire Meade), Mark Indelicato (Justin Suarez), and costume designer Patricia Field were all there to wish Ferrera a very happy birthday. Sadly, Ana Ortiz, who played Ferrera's on-screen sister Hilda, couldn't be there, but she was there in spirit. Not only did Ortiz post a throwback photo of Betty and Hilda, but she and Ugly Betty director, Victor Nelli Jr., posted a photo drink-in-hand sending a big cheers to Ferrera.

As for the other three well-known cast members, Michael Urie (Marc St. James), Becki Newton (Amanda Tanen), and Eric Mabius (Daniel Meade), they seemingly were busy with work and whatever life is throwing their way. With that said, I bet they would've helped Ferrera ring in her birthday if they could've, because why wouldn't they?

First, let's thank Williams and Indelicato for sharing these reunion photos. Second, let's talk about how lovely it is that the cast is still super close. It feels like just the other day that Ugly Betty was airing, providing us with laughs, and, of course, all that fabulous fashion.

Now, excuse me, because I have some Ugly Betty binge-watching to do.
