Laverne Cox Strips Down For 'Allure'

by Amy Sciarretto

It's time to strip down, since skin is always in! Laverne Cox posed for Allure 's Nudes photo spread, and looks absolutely stunning in the resulting images, of course. The annual shoot is something I always look forward to each year, since a variety of stunning celebs from all walks of life take off their clothes for an in-the-buff photo shoot. The shots are never gratuitous or dirty; the resulting images are elegant, lovely to look at, and they are of the highest impact, because they allow the viewer to marvel at the female form in all its glory.

This year, Orange Is the New Black actress Laverne Cox posed in the buff, despite initially declining to do so... twice. Cox ultimately changed her mind because she realized that posing nude would "be really powerful for the communities that I represent. Black women are not often told that we're beautiful unless we align with certain standards."

Cox decided to participate for all the right reasons, telling Allure, "Trans women certainly are not told we're beautiful. Seeing a black transgender woman embracing and loving everything about herself might be inspiring to some other folks. There's beauty in the things we think are imperfect. That sounds very cliché, but it's true."

Truth, indeed! She is such a glamazon and she appears so confident and comfortable in her own skin. How can you need be inspired by her photo?

Dayum, right? Cox smolders in her image, doesn't she?

Fast & Furious star Jordana Brewster not only ditched her clothes for the shoot, but e also went without makeup, so she was doubly beautiful and au naturel, while showing off a tiny bit of sideboob. Her husband asked her not to go full-frontal and she obliged. And you know, she didn't need to show it all off. Her image is sexy because it leaves plenty to the imagination.

Therein lies the the in-the-buff brilliance of Allure's Nudes spread.

So, take a few moments out of your day, realize how beautiful these female bodies are, and then be proud of your own!
