Here's Why 'RHOBH' Stars Kim & Kyle Haven't Talked

by Laura Rosenfeld

Here we go. With the third and final installment of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5 reunion upon us, we're just about ready to put another season of RHOBH in the can. You didn't think RHOBH wouldn't go out with a bang, did you? Good, because it does, and it involves one of the biggest bombshells of the Season 5 reunion: Kim and Kyle Richards reveal one reason why they hadn't spoken to each other since the season wrapped.

But the thing is, if you've been keeping up with your RHOBH news outside of what Bravo shows each week, you already know the answer. In early November, Kim's dog Kingsley, who we've seen the Housewife struggle to train and placate on past seasons of RHOBH, bit Kyle's daughter Alexia Umansky several times on the hand. Alexia underwent surgery and spent five days in the hospital to heal from her injury, which Kyle documented on Instagram.

And that was the problem. On the Season 5 reunion, it was clear and understandable that Kyle hadn't forgiven Kim for letting the attack happen at her home. But surprisingly — or maybe not, considering these are the Richards sisters we're talking about — Kim was even angrier at Kyle for "making a spectacle" out of the attack and Alexia's subsequent injury on social media.

So this was another major blow-up between the Richards sisters during the Season 5 reunion, and we've seen way too many of these this season. Come on, guys. You're tearing me a part! Can't Kim and Kyle just go away for a weekend — but not in Palm Springs — and hash things out once and for all so that they can be the loving sisters we know they can be? RHOBH drama is always entertaining, but this is just too real for me.

Unfortunately, if Kim and Kyle are ever going to resolve things, it wasn't going to be here. Neither could see where the other was coming from. While I get that Kim loves her dog Kingsley like she loves her children, I was shocked and kind of appalled at how little sympathy and compassion she had for Kyle and Alexia for having to experience an attack like that.

Kim kept vehemently saying that there's another side to the story of the attack. While it's possible that there's more to the story than Kyle has captured on Instagram or the media has reported, it's not like Alexia purposely got bit, right? Kim needs to take more responsibility here, and maybe if she did, it would be a step in the right direction toward repairing her relationship with her sister.
