Usually, this is a moment you wait all night for: the reveal of the winner of Best Shirtless Performance at the MTV Movie Awards. Let's just admit it. There are two categories at the awards show that you wait for all night, this one, and the winner of Best Kiss. Why? Because they're the two categories that essentially guarantee something hot and/or funny will go down on stage as soon as the winner is announced. This year, however, completely ripped us off, because while Zac Efron won Best Shirtless Performance for Neighbors, it was revealed online before the awards even started. So no, there won't be a moment when he takes the stage and either rips his shirt off or someone else does it for him.
I guess we'll have to survive on the memories of last year, when Efron won Best Shirtless Performance for That Awkward Moment and used his time on stage to prove just how deserving he was. So yes, Efron is a repeat winner, but who cares at this point? What's the point if he doesn't get to have some fun with it? I mean, he was up against some tough competition, including Chris Pratt for Guardians of the Galaxy, Channing Tatum for Foxcatcher, Ansel Elgort for The Fault In Our Stars, and Kate Upton for The Other Woman, marking the second time a woman has been nominated in this category. I guess if someone had to win the year when they wouldn't be able to have fun on stage, it might as well be the nominee who's already done that.
Just one more thing. Whoever breaks the news to Pratt that he lost, can you do it gently? He's been preparing for this moment since July 2013.
